Trinov is the new kid on the block, but does it really work?

Trinov is a topical treatment that was first called Brotzu lotion.

Brotzu lotion uses three molecules to improve hair growth and scalp health.

The first is dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid or DGLA, which encourages microcirculation.

Increased circulation and blood flow are incredibly important to maintaining healthy hair growth.

One study even found that people with male pattern baldness had 2.6 times less subcutaneous blood flow to the scalp than people with no hair loss.

The second active molecule is Equol, an anti-androgen.

Studies have shown that equol works by binding to dihydrotestosterone and blocking its hair miniaturization effects.

The last active molecule in Brotzu lotion is L-Carnitine which plays a key role by increasing energy levels in hair follicles.

One study found that when various doses of L-Carnitine were added to hair follicles over 9 days, hair follicles treated with 0.5 and 5 microns saw significant growth to hair shaft length.

L-Carnitine also managed to reduce cell death, extend the hair growth phase, and increase the number of hair cells that produce keratin, an essential component of hair.

Brotzu lotion has been developed further and is now available as Trinov through pharmacies in Italy.

Trinov is likely to be available in international markets soon as production increases.

Trinov has undergone clinical trials, including one 2018 study which involved 30 men and 30 women with alopecia topically applying Trinov for up to 6 months.

After 6 months the Trinov treatment managed to significantly increase hair count in women and marginally increase hair count in men.

An increase in the growth hair phase and reduction in the rest phase of hair was seen after 3 months in men and after only 1 month in women.

No serious side effects were found in clinical studies and mild effects may include an itchy scalp.

Since Trinov has the potential to inhibit the effects of DHT, typical DHT blocker side effects should be considered. These include decreased libido and erectile dysfunction.

For those wanting to make the most out of their hair, topical treatments such as laser light therapy could be safe to use in conjunction with Trinov.

Laser therapy uses red and near-infrared light to improve hair growth by reducing DHT levels and increasing blood flow.
